Joan Girbau Xalabarder is a young Director of Photography. Having filmed his first short film at the age of 12, he started his film studies with Audiovisual Communication in the International University of Catalunya. He complements his theoric and narrative formation with the technical and practical domain of the art. He never stops learning both professionally and personally, and during his free time he reads, writes and plays the piano. He keeps acquiring knowledge from the best ones in the industry through the official Masterclass courses with directors as Werner Herzog and Martin Scorsese. He has worked in different projects, ranging from commercials and virals to short movies and international documentaries. He has filmed, among others, for clients from Spain, France, Hong Kong, Russia and USA.

Joan merges his cinematography dowries with the direction of other filmic projects. He currently is finishing the re-edition of the documentary shot in Uganda Children of God and shooting Street Artist.
